Japan's January compound feed output down
Japan's compound feed output in January fell 0.8 percent from a year earlier to 1,890,241 tonnes, data from the US Agriculture Ministry showed on Tuesday (March 20).
In December, compound feed output rose 2.7 percent year-on-year to 2,375,644 tonnes.
Some Japanese industry officials have said compound feed consumption could fall this year due to a rise in feed prices as demand from the US ethanol industry grows.
The United States supplies more than 90 percent of corn used for feed in Japan.
