Cargill donates new pig research farm in Vietnamese university
The Vietnamese University of Agriculture and Forestry (UAF) in Ho Chi Minh City has been given a US$40,000-pig research farm project by US agri-giant Cargill.
The pig research farm project based in Dong Nai Province is a model farm with advanced equipment to provide practical opportunities for teachers and students in the veterinary faculty in their training and study, said Cargill Vietnam director Scott Ainslie.
For years, Cargill Vietnam and UAF have maintained close relations in science research and practice as most of the company's workforce have come from and trained from the university.
Cargills' ten-year presence in Vietnam has resulted to five animal feed factories with total investment capital of US $80 million.
Cargill Vietnam supplies 500,000 tonnes of animal feed for the local market each year.
