Russia's poultry output up 21.7% in January-February
Compared to the same period of last year, Russia's January-February poultry output is 21.7% higher at 535,000 tonnes, the federal statistics service reported late Friday (Mar 16).
Without giving volumes in tonnages, the statistics service said poultry output in February was 25% more than in February 2011 and 0.8% more than in January this year.
Russia's poultry industry is developing at a considerable pace, with private investment increasing constantly and the government encouraging higher domestic output as a means to replacing imports.
