Russia's Ulyanovsk region to construct pig farm

 

 

A pig farm with total investment of more than RUB700 million (US$24 million) will be built in Russia's Terengulsky district of the Ulyanovsk region.

 

The agreement was signed on March 13 by Governor Sergey Morozov, Eduard Surgutsky, the Head of the company-initiator of the project "ROS-Becon", as well as by Head of the Terengulsky district Vladimir Dergunov.

 

It is planned that the company will be established at a production site in the Terengulsky district. It will house two pig breeding facilities with a closed production cycle for a year-round maintenance, which includes reproduction, feeding of pigs, slaughterhouse with cut-sides and trim shop, an elevator for 10,000 tonnes of grain storage, and also a feed plant to ensure the quality of feed and reduce its cost. It is planned to reach the full production capacity in December 2013 to November 2014. Through the use of new and modern technologies they will ensure effective and sustain supply of products (pork), with the capacity of 30,000 fattening pigs per year. The proposed technology is based on today's low-power intensive industry.

 

The total amount of investment in the project will exceed RUB700 million (US$24 million). The project will provide about 70 new jobs. The Government of Ulyanovs Region.
