Denmark's Nutreco gets EU nods on compound feed unit selling

Approval from the EU competition authorities to sell its compound feed supplier Hendrix to sector player ForFarmers has been received by Dutch animal nutrition company Nutreco for EUR92.5 million (US$121.7 million).

The transaction, which was first announced in November last year, is expected to be completed in late March.

The deal has already been recommended by the relevant works councils.

The divestment is in line with Nutreco's strategy to participate in the consolidation of the compound feed sector in mature markets, such as the Netherlands and Belgium.

Hendrix operates 10 plants and sells its products in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.
