Belarusian companies resume exports to Russia
Belarusian Gomel, Zhlobin meat-packing plants and Belovezhski resumed exports to Russia on Monday (Mar 16), according to a source in the Agriculture Ministry.
The source said Russia's Rosselkhoznadzor sanitary watchdog on Monday lifted temporary restrictions on supplies of meat products made by the indicated companies to Russia.
As soon as the ban was imposed, Belarusian meat-packing plants in association with the vet service of Belarus worked out a complex of measures to improve the quality of meat products and monitoring of incoming raw materials.
Rosselkhoznadzor allowed Belarusian companies to resume supplies, since there were no deviations from the state standard.
The temporary ban was imposed on October 2008 on products made by Gomel and Zhlobin plants, and on meat products made by Belovezhski on February 6, 2009.
