Egypt's GASC tenders to buy 55,000-60,000 tonnes wheat

Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities is tendering to buy at least 55,000-60,000 tonnes of wheat for shipment April 16-30, on a free-on-board basis, an agency official said Monday.

GASC is looking to purchase 55,000-60,000 tonnes of US hard red winter wheat, US soft red wheat, US soft white wheat, French milling wheat, Argentine wheat, or Kazakhstan wheat, and 25,000-60,000 tonnes of Russian, German, UK, or Syrian wheat, Nomani Nomani, undersecretary of the vice chairman of GASC, told Dow Jones Newswires.

GASC also announced a tender for a minimum of 10,000 tonnes of wheat, of the same origins stated above, from local suppliers to be paid for in Egyptian pounds on the basis of landed cost out of the free-zone areas, Nomani said.

The date for delivery for that tender is May.

The deadline for bids is 1200 GMT Tuesday.
