The Supervisory Board of Royal DSM is recommending its Business Group Director, Dimitri de Vreeze to the Managing Board of DSM at its coming May 3 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, with responsibility for DSM's Materials Sciences clusters from September 1, 2013.

Dimitri will succeed Nico Gerardu, who will be retiring from DSM after a long service in the company. Gerardu was appointed to the Managing Board in 2006, after holding several senior management positions and serving as business group director of DSM Fine Chemicals, and later, DSM Anti-Infectives.

Presently, Dimitri is the business group director of DSM Resins and has built a strong team while delivering progress in DSM Resins.

Previously, he was business unit director of NeoResins, business unit director of Coating Resins, business director of Composite Resins Europe in Switzerland, global business manager of Sizing and Binders in Italy, and has worked in DSM Fine Chemicals' Finance unit since he joined the company in 1990.
