Vietnam's Minh Phu Seafood receives GAP certification

Minh Phu Seafood Corporation has been awarded the Global Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) certification.

It is the first Vietnamese seafood producer to receive the certification.

Minh Phu deputy general director Le Van Diep said the company's shrimp exports leapt 31% in volume and value in the first two months of the year against the same period last year.

Earlier, the company posted net revenues which rose 8.7% on year to VND3.069 trillion (US$160.76 million) in the year. The full-year earnings per share was VND3,391 (US$0.177), according to the company.

The shrimp producer liquidated almost all financial investments to focus on core business in 2009.
