Ukraine exports 542,300 tonnes grain from March 1-15
Ukraine exported 542,300 tonnes of grain in the first half of March compared to 543,800 in the first 15 days of February, according to UkrAgroConsult.
The consultancy said the volume had included 270,900 tonnes of wheat, 137,200 of barley and 126,400 of corn. It said additional 300,000 tones of grain could be exported in the near future.
UkrAgroConsult said Ukraine had exported 17.04 million tonnes of grain in the first eight months of the 2009-10 season compared to 16.7 million in the same period in 2008-09.
Analysts have said grain export may fall to 20 million tonnes in 2009-10 from 25 million in 2008-09.
