Ukraine poultry population shows decrease in January
In January 2010, the poultry population in Ukraine fell by 3.9% or 7.387 million heads, compared with December 2009, to 183.157 million heads as of February 1, 2010, according to the State Statistics Committee.
In private farms, the poultry population went down by 7.1% or 6.491 million heads, in specialised farms by 0.9% or 0.896 million heads.
In comparison with February 1, 2009, poultry population rose by 7.3% or 12.497 million heads.
In specialised farms, the poultry population rose by 12.2% or 10.770 million heads, and in private farms poultry population rose by 2.1% or 1.727 million heads.
As earlier reported, in December, the poultry population fell by 5.4% or 10.798 million heads, compared with November to 190.544 million heads as of January 1, 2010.
