Vertellus Specialties to outsource North American operations to Odyssey Logistics

Vertellus Specialties Inc. has signed a three-year agreement to outsource its North American transportation and logistics operations, including global imports and exports to Odyssey Logistics.

Linda Hicks, vice president of manufacturing and operations for Vertellus, said the company has made significant progress in a number of areas to continue its initiative for shareholder value creation.

Hicks added that the company chose Odyssey for its demonstrated expertise and value delivery in this sector.

Odyssey's technology will be interfaced with the Vertellus ERP to allow improved data management and provide visibility to the transportation associated activities across all modes.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, Vertellus develops and manufactures specialty chemicals used in pharmaceuticals, personal care, nutrition, agriculture, and performance materials markets.

The company is the world's second largest producer of vitamin B-3 for both animal feed and human consumption.
