Ukraine posts record February soy exports

Ukraine's total February soy exports totalled 168,200 tonnes, higher than in any other month in the country's history, the state statistics committee reported Wednesday (Mar 16).

February soy exports exceeded the previous monthly record set in January of 163,900 tonnes and by far outstripped the 15,900 tonnes exported in February 2010.

Altogether in the first six months of the current marketing year, September 2010-February 2011, Ukraine exported 617,200 tonnes of soy , which is higher than the 125,000 tonnes exported in the corresponding period last year and higher than the record 417,600 tonnes exported in the whole of the 2006-07 marketing year.
