Hong Kong monitors US recall of chicken drink products

Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety (CFS) is closely monitoring the situation about the recall of chicken drink products in the US, according to official sources in China.

The recall by the US authorities was due to the products not meeting the poultry products inspection or poultry exemption requirements in the US.

It was classified as a Class II recall as there is a remote possibility of adverse health consequences from the use of the product.

The centre has contacted the local importer and was informed that the recalled products in the US carry different batch numbers from the products currently available in Hong Kong. It will liaise closely with the US authorities for more information.
