Biomin launches two new products

Press Release

BIOMIN, a leading global company focusing on health in animal nutrition, has launched its latest innovations, namely PoultryStar and Mycofix Secure.

PoultryStar is a well-defined, multi-strain probiotic product. It contains a source of live viable naturally occurring microorganism which are categorised and classified as Generally Recognised As Safe (GRAS).  PoultryStar helps improve gut microflora which is known to play a significant role in protecting young birds and newly hatched chicks against colonisation by harmful bacteria.

To protect chicks from early exposure to pathogens, extensive sanitary effort is implemented at the hatchery since the establishment of the gut microflora of the chick begins with its first mouthful of water and feed.  PoultryStar strengthens gut health and helps establish better health for the chick as it grows in an ever challenging environment.

Key trial-proven benefits of PoultryStar include improved final live weight, increased feed efficiency and decreased mortality.

Mycofix Secure is the latest addition to BIOMIN's Mycofix product line. Mycofix Secure is the risk management solution against aflatoxins, fumonisins and ergot alkaloids in animal feed for growers and finishes, broilers and layers.

After researching for over 2 years, Mycofix Secure is introduced based on its:

  • High adsorption capacity

  • Strong binding; No/low desorption of already adsorbed toxin

  • High affinity to aflatoxin

  • Low adsorption of essential nutrients

  • Lack of toxicity of the binding material

  • Proven laboratory tests and in vivo trials

Key benefits of Mycofix Secure are:

  • High specificity for aflatoxins

  • High adsorption of fumonisins and ergot alkaloids

  • Low adsorption of vitamins

  • Considerable reduction of damages produced by mycotoxins

  • Reduced liver damages caused by the presence of mycotoxins in the feed

  • Ensure food safety in dairy products (reduced AfM1 in milk)

  • Pellet binding agent

  • Anti-caking agent
