Ukraine's March grain stocks at 9.9 million tonnes
 

Ukraine's grain stocks as of March 1, 2007 totalled 9.9 million tonnes of grain, or 2.0 percent more than at the same date in 2006, the State Statistics Committee said on Thursday.

The committee said stocks of large and medium-sized agriculture companies included about 4.5 million tonnes of wheat -- 5 percent less than a year ago.

Agriculture ministry figures show that Ukraine harvested 34.25 million tonnes of grain in 2006 against 38 million in 2005.
