China to speed up new GMOs development
As part of the efforts to boost grain output, China will accelerate the pace of seed sector innovation and improve regulations, Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture stated on Friday (Mar 9).
According to Han, China is pushing forward special programs for breeding new genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and will form a complete set of systematic laws and regulations to intensify supervision on GMOs safety, technology and management based on the present rules for the security management of agricultural GMOs.
