Ukraine's grain export forecast down

 

 

Mykola Prysiazhnyuk, Minister of Agrarian Policy, on March 13 said that Ukraine will export 20-21 million tonnes of grains against the previously forecasted volume of 25.4 million tonnes.

 

The Minister expects that since March 2012 Ukraine will supply at least two million tonnes of grains on foreign markets.

 

According to him, since February 2012, the dynamics of Ukrainian grain exports continues growing, despite the adverse weather conditions.

 

According to data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, during eight months of the current marketing year, Ukraine already exported 13.09 million tonnes of grains, an increase of 66.8% compared to the same period last year. In particular, as of March 1, 2012, corn exports increased by 3.1 times - to 7.76 million tonnes, wheat - up 18.1%, to 3.26 million tonnes (including 1.85 million tonnes of milling wheat and 1.41 million tonnes of feed wheat). At the same time, exports of barley decreased by 20% - to 1.95 million tonnes.
