Poland's PKM DUDA acquires Stol Polski
Polish meat and cold meats supplier, Stol Polski, has joined the Capital Group PKM DUDA SA.
The deal, which includes PKM DUDA buying the shares of Stol Polski, went ahead following the consent of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.
The acquisition of the new company is expected to reinforce the distribution services sector of the Group CM MAKTON and will introduce a new business line in meat processing with a range of premium brands.
PKM DUDA president Maciej Duda said the transaction will allow the company to integrate operations of Makton, Fedrus and Stol Polski into one business model forming a significant operation in the distribution sector.
Duda said the acquisition will significantly increase the number of its customers as well as its logistics and technical base.
The Stol Polski trademark has a strong position in the Warsaw market. The company produces premium cold meats under the brands of "Wedliny Jak za Gierka", "Wedliny Mistrz Zygmunt" and " Z Goralskiej Beczki".
The new brands will also be distributed by Makton and Fedrus in the Warsaw, Krakow and Poznan districts.
PKM DUDA also plans to extend the range on offer.
Stol Polski has two production plants in Ciechanowiec and in Makow Mazowiecki. Both plants are meat boning operations, although the plant in Ciechanow also produces cold meats.
The company distributes through warehouses and dedicated shops.
