Finland's animal feed production down 3 percent in 2006
 

Finland's food safety authority Evira data show a total of 1,425 million kilos of feed for farm animals were produced for the domestic market in Finland in 2006, representing a decrease of 3 percent from 2005.

The biggest decrease, 18 percent, was seen in the manufacture of feeds for fur animals. Manufacture of feed for calves also decreased by 13 percent while a total of 6 million kilos of pet feed was produced.

Over 29 million kilos of feed additives were made in Finland in 2006, representing a decrease of about 3 percent from 2005.
