EU extends Indonesian shrimp exports policy
A EU policy aiding Indonesian exports of shrimp has been extended until 2010.
The General System of Preferences (GSP) allows for a reduced import duty, Director General for the Promotion of Institutional Capacity and Marketing at the Maritime and Fisheries Ministry Sumpeno Putro said.
Under the GSP facility, the EU imposes an import duty of 4.2 percent on frozen raw shrimp and 7 percent on frozen cooked shrimp.
