Weak improvement in demand fails to lift China methionine prices

Prices of methionine moved lower during the week ending March 13.

Trade remained slow even though demand improved lately. Anticipating methionine prices to stay weak, feed millers limited purchases while feed consumption was sow amid low animal inventories.

Price quotes of imported dl-methionine dropped to the range of RMB29.10-29.60/kg.

Abundant supplies, slow feed consumption in conjunction with poor livestock prices will work together to drag down the prices of methionine in China.
