China exported 541 tonnes of corn in February and the total corn exports in the first two months plunged 97.2% on-year to 1,195 tonnes, the General Administration of Customs statistics showed.
February edible sugar export from China reached 2,852 tonnes and the total in January and February slid 33.1% to 9,998 tonnes.
The February export value of corn was US$144,000 and the total for the first two months of 2011 went down 96.1% on-year to US$395,000. February export value of edible sugar reached US$2.491 million and the total amount for January and February sank 25.7% to US$7.269 million.
February witnessed the exports of 140,000 live pigs worth US$34.312 million. During the first two months, a total of 160,000 pigs were exported, down 4.5% on-year in volumes but up 15.7% to US$37.107 million in total export value.
