Azerbaijan's egg prices lower more than twice

Decreased wholesale and retail prices on Azerbaijan's eggs were observed to be much lower-AZN0.11 (US$0.14) at wholesale sale centres.

The Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry's Antimonopoly Policy and Consumer Protection Service continued monitoring to prevent artificial increases in egg prices.

Egg prices at retail centres is AZN0.12 (US$0.15). Monitoring is underway.

Earlier, the price hit AZN0.30 (US$0.38) in Baku.

Azerbaijani Poultry Farmers Society Chairman Aydin Veliyev said poultry farms import 90% of the country's feed. The society appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers to exempt poultry feed imports from VAT.
