Argentina's January soy crush down 0.5 percent on-year
Argentina's January soybean crush totalled 2,359,169 tonnes, down 0.5 percent from the 2,372,189 tonnes crushed in January 2006, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.
Argentina produced 448,695 tonnes of soyoil in January, compared with the 450,637 tonnes produced a year earlier.
Soy pellet output in January totalled 1,811,616 tonnes, down from the 1,854,240 tonnes produced a year ago.
The 2005/06 soy harvest totalled a record 40.5 million tonnes, according to the US Department of Agriculture. Argentina will produce 42.5-44.5 million tonnes of soybeans from the 2006/07 crop, according to the Agriculture Secretariat.
