Vietnam eyes to up seafood export revenues by 2015

 

 

The state media reported that Vietnam aims to increase its seafood export revenues to US$7.5 billion by 2015 from US$6.23 billion in 2011.

 

It is a part of the country's development plan for seafood export for 2012-15 period which was already approved by the prime minister.

 

By 2020, the country's seafood export revenues should rise to between US$10-10.5 billion, the plan said.

 

The country targets the seafood export growth of 8% in 2012-15 period and 7% in 2015-20 period.

 

The aquaculture is projected to account for 70% of the country's seafood export revenues, the plan said.

 

Vietnam targets to earn US$6.5 billion from exporting seafood products in 2012.
