PM Beef receives SQF certification

PM Beef, based in Windom, Minnesota, has been recognized as a Safe Quality Food (SQF) 2000 Level 3 Certified Supplier by the SQF Institute, a division of the Food Marketing Institute.

PM beef is the first US beef harvest facility to receive such certification, according to the company's press release. 

The certification officially states that PM Beef has developed and maintained a quality and safety management system aside from securing good manufacturing practices and a HACCP programme.

Lisa Hernandez, the company's vice president of quality assurance and food safety said the certification, particularly from a prestigious organization like the Food Marketing Institute is an "external verification of our internal commitment to safety and quality".

Hernandez said it has trained all of its employees for SQF requirements.
