Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Q1 net profit boosted by expanded network
 

Saskatchewan Wheat Pool Inc. has attributed its positive first quarter performance to its expanded grain elevator and retail network.

The company said it had net earnings of C$41.2 million compared with C$7.9 million from a year earlier.

EBITDA was C$81.3 million compared with C$26.4 million a year earlier due to increased shipments and margins in the Grain Handling and Marketing segment.

Revenue increased to C$1.3 billion from C$447.6 million a year earlier.

In addition, the company acquired Agricore United last year.
