Ukraine's MHP to boost poultry production by 15% in 2013

In 2013, Ukrainian meat producer, MHP, aims to increase its volume of poultry production by at least 14.8%, up to 464,000 tonnes.

The company reported in a statement that this year, as part of a large-scale expansion programme, they are ready to increase the production of chicken at least by 60,000 tonnes.

The growth will be achieved through starting operations at Vinnytsia poultry farm, which was commissioned at the end of last year. In 2012 MHP produced 404,000 tonnes of chicken, which is 5% more than in 2011, also mainly due to the launch of the project in Vinnytsia.

According to the information of the company, its share on the market of industrial chicken production in Ukraine in 2012 remained at the level of 50%.

"By 2018, we expect that the project in Vinnytsia will double the MHP production capacity to more than 800,000 tonnes of poultry per year" commented the representatives of the company.

The company will continue to increase its exports to the CIS, Asia, Africa, and in the near future to the EU. In 2012, export sales of MHP reached 15% of the total sales of poultry meat.
