Pfizer Animal Health launches Suvaxyn PCV2 vaccine
With the launch of Pfizer Animal Health's Suvaxyn® PCV2, Southeast Asia's swine producers have a new option for effective protection against porcine circovirus type 2 (PCV2). This new, single dose vaccine offers prevention of viraemia associated with field infections of immunosuppressive porcine circovirus.
Suvaxyn® PCV2 is labelled for use as an aid in preventing viraemia and also as an aid in controlling PCV2 - related lymphoid depletion for pigs three weeks of age and older. It provides four months of immunity against PCV 2 in a single 2 mL dose.
Dr. Yong Ming, DVM, swine marketing manager (Bios) for Pfizer Animal Health Asia Pacific, said, "Suvaxyn® PCV2 offers swine veterinarians and producers a new choice for long--lasting, consistent protection against PCV2. Additionally, with our new one day of age vaccination claim for RespiSure - ONE®, we can provide an innovative programme for mycoplasma and circovirus control. These registered vaccination regimes give veterinarians and their producers the flexibility to vaccinate for these key pathogens before the typical onset of disease challenge, providing the best immunity coverage possible."
Experimental studies and field trials prove that Suvaxyn® PCV2 significantly reduces viraemia and virus shedding, while improving body weight gain in PCV2 challenged pigs.
Suvaxyn® PCV2 is backed by Pfizer's sales and technical teams, which are dedicated to serving the swine industry, improving animal productivity and herd health. It is available throughout North America (under the trade name Fostera® PCV), Mexico, Central America, Philippines, Thailand and Malaysia.

Pas Reform's SmartTransferâ„¢ setter trolley loader for automated, automated transfer of hatchery trays
Pas Reform's SmartTransferâ„¢ is an ergonomically designed, fully automated setter trolley loader that allows its operator to safely, simultaneously transfer 32 egg carrying trays from a farm trolley to a setter trolley, all in less than two minutes.
Featuring Pas Reform's expertise in custom - made handling systems, the SmartTransferâ„¢ setter trolley loader saves time and manpower with a simple push mechanism that simultaneously transfers every egg tray in the trolley. Thanks to a smooth, gliding motion during transport, eggs are safe from sudden movements that may cause cracks or other damage.
To operate, a filled farm trolley is pushed into the SmartTransferâ„¢ trolley loader and locked into position. With the door closed, the operator sets SmartTransfer's electronically operated pusher into action, transferring all the trayed eggs on to a tray collector simultaneously.
After the operator replaces the farm trolley with a setter trolley, tray collector guides adjust automatically to the correct pitch - and all the filled trays are pushed into the setter trolley at the same time. The whole process is completed in under two minutes. Stainless steel construction makes for easy, efficient cleaning.
