Britain's animal feed output falls in January
Britain's animal feed production fell 3.2% in January 2012 from a year ago, the latest GB Animal Feed Statistics report showed.
In January 2012, the total raw material usage in the retail production of animal feed in Britain was down 2.8% as compared to January 2011.
Total integrated feed production in Britain also declined 17.5% from January 2011.
For the period October-December 2011, the quarterly average price for cattle and calf feed was GBP222 (US$348)/tonne while that of pig feed was GBP247 (US$387)/tonne. Poultry feed was priced at GBP257 (US$431)/tonne while sheep feed was priced at GBP215 (US$393)/tonne.
