Kyowa Hakko raises prices of amino acids
Kyowa Hakko has raised the cost of its L-amino acids range by 5 percent due to rising energy and raw material costs amid increase in demand.
The news comes a year after a 10-percent hike worldwide announced by the company last year.
Chikakui Kotani, president of Kyowa Hakko, US, said recent increases in energy costs and raw materials, along with the need to keep pace with growing demand has necessitated the price increase.
Two Japanese companies, Kyowa Hako and Ajinamoto are the world's top two amino acid producers.
