Brunei considering to begin poultry export
Brunei's poultry production has been rising steadily for the past 15 years, and the government is now looking to start its own poultry exports.
A source from Brunei's agriculture department confirmed that the government is indeed looking at the possibility of exportation.
Brunei is in talks with Singapore on how to start exporting, although they would have to comply with Singaporean requirements in terms of biosecurity measures, legislation and etc, according to the source.
Domestic production accounted for only 32 percent of total chicken consumption in 1992. However, figures released by the government showed that it has since soared to 95.6 percent in 2006.
