Ukraine reports 11% of winter crop plantings unsatisfactory

 
 

Winter grains in Ukraine perished throughout the territory of 25,300 hectares, or 0.3% of general sowing areas of winter grains.

 

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine estimates the condition of 10.8% of winter crop sowings or 920,000 hectares as unsatisfactory.

 

Winter wheat was in good condition throughout three million hectares or 45.2% of the general sowings. Winter wheat in satisfactory condition constituted 2.95 million hectares, or 44.5%, while winter wheat in weak and thinned condition covered 690,000 million hectares or 10.4%.

 

Winter barley sowings condition was estimated as good throughout 630,00 hectares or 40.3% of the general barley sowings, while 730,000 hectares or 46.6% were in satisfactory condition.

 

As of March 4, 37.8% of winter canola sowings showed good condition, 41.4% were in satisfactory condition and 20.8% were in weak and thinned condition.
