Kazakhstan '09 grain harvest seen up 10 percent on-year
Kazakhstan's grain harvest is likely to increase in 2009 by at least by 10 percent on the year, when 15.6 million tonnes was harvested in clean weight, the agriculture ministry said Tuesday (March 10).
The ministry said its forecast was based on the state of crops, soil and weather conditions.
In 2008, Kazakhstan harvested 15.6 million tonnes of grain in clean weight, compared with 20.1 million tonnes in 2007.
