Producers lift methionine prices in China despite slow post-festive demand
Prices of methionine were significantly higher during the week ending March 9.
For liquid methionine*, price quotes increased to the range of RM31.50-33/kg.
Trade remained limited in China's methionine market even though most feed millers have resumed operation. Nonetheless, prices of methionine surged while major producers lifted prices with supplies tight. Supporting the price hike, local producers increased price quotes by around 30% during the period in review.
