Poland to export hatching eggs, chicks to Russia
Poland is interested in supplying hatching eggs and day-old chicks to Russia, according to the Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor).
The Polish Veterinary Service will provide a list of Polish poultry breeding farms and interested Russian importers for Rosselkhoznadzor officials to examine. The parties also agreed to hold the working group next meeting on veterinary issue in Moscow at the end of May 2009.
However, Russia is concerned of the detection of violations in product supply from Poland. In some cases, products unlicensed by Russia were exported and information on identification tags fail to correspond to data specified in veterinary certificates.
As a result, the Polish Veterinary Service is expected to carry out inspections and take measures for preventing such cases in future. Veterinary certificates on cattle and raw meat exported to Russia also have to be agreed in the nearest future.
The agreement on observance of Russian new technical regulations for milk and dairy products by Poland was also achieved.
