Macedonia, Ukraine to team up in the agriculture industry

FYR Macedonia's Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy minister joins with Ukraine's Ambassador to FYR Macedonia to focus on cooperation in the agriculture industry, with emphasis on bilateral trade exchange of agriculture products.

Ukraine's Ambassador to FYR Macedonia Yuriy Goncharuk briefed FYR Macedonia's Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupco Dimovski on the possibilities for export in Ukraine, especially of gardening products. Moreover, there is an increasing tendency of wine export. However, there are difficulties due to the visa regime, resulting in the insufficient use of export quotas.

Dimovski told Goncharuk that companies that want to invest in purchase-distribution centres could acquire state agriculture land, get tax facilitations, as well as swift company registration.

Interlocutors also referred to bilateral cooperation in the fields of quarantine and plant protection, in line with the International Plant Protection Convention, the Agriculture Ministry said.
