Czech to release 300,000 tonnes of feed grain

The Czech Republic will release 300,000 tonnes of grain from state reserves to pig farmers, according to the Agriculture Ministry.

"Pig farms are facing long-term problems so we found a quick solution and will temporarily use grains from state reserves," Agricultural Minister Ivan Fuksa said in a statement posted on the ministry's website.

The farmers must repay the loan of grains in 2011. As of February 25, the state reserves administration had collected requests for 100,000 tonnes of feed grains.
