China ends ban of pork imports from the Americas

China has lifted the ban of pork imports from the US, Canada and Mexico as risks of the AH1N1 flu eased, according to the statement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.

The statement was dated February 23 but posted on the quality watchdog's website on March 4.

China banned pork imports from Mexico and several states in the US and Canada in April 2009 when the disease broke out in Mexico and spread worldwide later.
