Iran exports US$44 million worth of seafood for 2006
Iran exported around US$43.8 million worth of seafood in the first 11 months of the current Iranian calendar year (which starts Mar 21, 2006), an 18.6-percent increase when compared to the same period last year.
Seafood accounted for 0.1 percent of the weight and 0.3 percent of the value of Iran's non-oil exports during the period, the Customs Administration said on Wednesday.
Exported volume was 25,759 tonnes, a 68.4-percent growth increase compared with the year before.
Exports of fresh, frozen, and smoked fish during the period hit US$27 million.
