US firm invests in beef production base in China's inner Mongolia
America's Tianma Co. Ltd have signed a letter of intent with inner Mongolia's Arun Banner's government in the Hulunbuir prefecture to invest US$200 million in a 25,000 mu (1,666 hectare) industrial park for cattle breeding.

The park would encompass commercial, residential and school facitilites, with a cattle slaughtering and processing plant as the central commercial activity. The slaughter plant would process 600,000 heads of cattle a year supplied from 12 cattle breeding grounds each with a 50,000 head production capacity.
Tianma would provide the funding, technical expertise and corporate management of the venture. The company would use the latest technology and equipment from the US and adopt a full traceability approach to production. Tianma would also supply seeds, training in farming methods and planting technology for contract farmers planting corn and other feed grains.
