Ukraine raises grain buying to intervention fund in 2012/13
The volume of grain purchasing to the public intervention fund in 2012/13 marketing year has been increased by the Government of Ukraine compared to the previous season by over 1.2 million tonnes, according to APK-Inform.
According to the decree of the Cabinet of Ministers #172 dated March 5, next marketing year the public intervention fund will purchase 2.234 million tonnes of grains.
The Government also increased the plan of buckwheat purchasing from 35,280 tonnes last year to 40,000 tonnes, millet - from 15,000-20,000 tonnes. At the same time, the public fund will reduce purchasing volumes of barley compared to last season, namely - 20,000 tonnes against 40,000 tonnes, corn - 29,000 tonnes against 30,000 tonnes, and oats - 22,400 tonnes against 23,000 tonnes, peas - 13,000 tonnes against 23,000 tonnes. In the current season, the Government plans to purchase 90,000 tonnes of rye.
As a reminder, the Government of Ukraine sets the annual volume of purchasing of the objects of the state price regulation to the Agrarian Fund.
