Argentina 2009-10 corn output seen higher

Record yields in many fields will push Argentina's 2009-10 corn production up to 19.7 million tonnes, the Rosario Grain Exchange said Friday (March 5).

The exchange had previously pegged the crop at just over 18 million tonnes.

"In the center of the farm belt, weather conditions are optimal for the corn season," the exchange said. Farmers have just started to harvest the first early corn crops.
