China sees 5.2% increase for pork prices on March 2

China's pork prices have risen 5.2% on March 2 from 20 November 2012, due to colder months in the country.

However, despite the increase, prices are 8% lower than the same period last year.

The North and North Eastern regions of China have showed the highest increase - . Jilin, Liaoning and Heilongjiang provinces had an increase of more than 10%.

As pork is the main meat consumed in China, it is expected that pork consumption will increase with the coming Chinese festivals.
