Germany detects PCB traces in China's vitamin B2 feed grade
Germany has detected traces of dioxin-like polychlorobifenyls (PCBs) in a consignment of feed grade vitamin B2 (80%) imported from China.
The European Commission has been informed about this.
According to the Bundesamt für Verbraucherschutz und Lebensmittelsicherheit (BVL), results from sampling undertaken by a German company in mid-January, showed that batches contained PCB levels rising to 5.15 pg WHO TEQ/g.
It is understood that part of the shipment was also distributed from Germany to Brazil.
