China biotin market stable amid flat sales

Flat trading held biotin prices slightly lower after earlier rounds of pre-holiday restocking.
Ex-factory prices of locally produced biotin slid to around RMB70-72/kg, while market transacted prices were slightly higher.
Meanwhile, general market prices of imported biotin (10%) were unchanged in the range of RMB615-630/kg.
Announcement by Zhejiang Fuyang Kexing Biochemical Co Ltd to invest RMB50 million in building a 70-tonne-capacity pure biotin production plant raised speculation over possible long-term overcapacity in the market.
