Australian beef exports up 1.7 percent in February

Australian beef exports to Japan in February rose 1.7 percent from a year before to 33,433 tonnes for the seventh straight year-on-year increase, Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) announced Tuesday (March 6).

Exports of grain-fed beef totalled 15,082 tonnes, up 0.3 percent, while those of grass-fed beef grew 2.9 percent to 18,351 tonnes.

Beef exports to Japan in the first two months of this year rose 11 percent from the same period of last year to 56,748 tonnes.
