Shandong's Qingdao aquaculture firms approved for exports to Brazil
Brazil has approved 24 aquaculture companies from China for exports of aqua-products into the country, according to China's National Certification and Accreditation Administration.
Of the 24 companies, seven came from Qingdao in Shandong province, signalling a new market for the aquacultural enterprises in the city.
Brazil's approval comes after the EU, US, South Korea and Vietnam has agreed to imports from China. Brazil is also the first Latin American country to approve Chinese aqua-products. Currently in Qingdao, 84 Chinese aquaculture companies are approved for exports to the US while 61 obtained approval from the EU. 93 companies were approved by South Korea and five were approved by Vietnam.
Qingdao now accounts for 31 percent of the companies in the province accredited for exports abroad.
