Taiwan Sugar buys US corn and soybeans from Mitsui
State-owned Taiwan Sugar Corp. (TSC) bought 23,000 tonnes of US No. 2 yellow corn and 12,000 tonnes of US No. 2 yellow soybeans in combined cargo from Japanese trading company Mitsui in a tender concluded Friday.
TSC bought 23,000 tonnes of corn at $161.34/tonne, cost and freight to the port of Kaohsiung. The company also bought 12,000 tonnes soybeans at 227.50 US cents a bushel over the Chicago Board of Trade May contract.
The mixed cargo of corn and soybeans is set to be shipped either between March 27-April 10 from the US Gulf, or between April 11-25 from the Pacific Northwest. Mitsui can supply 5 per cent more or 10 per cent less of the tendered quantity.
